Size: A juvenile can live in a 40x30 cm terrarium, but ideally from 60 cm and above for its development.
Substrate: Safest for juveniles: paper towels, uninked paper, especially reptile carpets. Avoid sand because of the risk of intestinal blockage (impaction).

Heating with a heat mat or ceramic heater.
Lighting: Not diurnal – active mainly at night. Does not require bright lighting, but a natural day/night cycle helps.
Humidity: 30–40% in the terrarium, but a humid hide (hiding area with moist peat/moss) is necessary for proper molting.
Decoration: Many hiding areas (one on the warm and one on the cold side), flat stones, branches.
Diet (Juvenile):
Mainly insects (live): crickets, Dubia roaches, mealworms.
Give daily to juveniles, in an amount that they eat within 10–15 minutes.
