Large Sand Boa Female (0.1)
Eryx tataricus, also known as the Tatar Sand Boa or Large Sand Boa, is a calm and impressive sand boa species from the arid and semi-desert regions of Central Asia. It stands out for its thick body, short head and characteristic “burrowing” behavior, as it spends much of its life under the substrate. Females are noticeably larger than males and can reach about 70–90 cm in length. It is a calm species, suitable for both experienced keepers and hobbyists looking for a different fossorial snake with easy maintenance. Its diet is mainly based on appropriately sized rodents (Juveniles: every 5–7 days, Adults: every 10–14 days) while its nocturnal and subterranean behavior makes it particularly interesting in naturalistic and desert terrariums.
Character: Calm and slow species, Rarely defensive, Likes to remain buried in the substrate, Excellent display snake for desert bioactive setups
