Crickets are one of the most common live foods used in reptile and amphibian diets. They are popular because they are easy to find, are mass-raised and have good nutritional value.
Behavior: Lively, active and noisy; constantly moving, which stimulates the reptile's hunting instinct.
Ideal for lizards (e.g. geckos, beardies, anoles), chameleons, tortoises/turtles (supplementary) and amphibians such as frogs.
They are given live so that the reptile can chase them.
They are easily adapted to different sizes of reptiles (depending on the cricket's stage of development).
Gut-loading & Calcium Powder
Gut-loading: Before feeding the reptile, feed the crickets with nutrient-rich food (e.g. vegetables, fruits, special cricket food). This makes them more nutritious for the reptile.
Dusting: Sprinkle the crickets with calcium powder and, if necessary, vitamins (D3) before adding them to the terrarium.  ...More

Nutritional Value
Protein: ~15–20% (dry weight much higher).
Fat: Low (good for reptiles that gain weight easily).
Calcium – Phosphorus: Low ratio of calcium to phosphorus, so they need a calcium supplement.
Home Maintenance:
They need a breeding box with good ventilation, a temperature of ~25–30°C and hiding places (egg cartons).
They are fed dry food for insects, fresh vegetables and fruits (be careful with humidity so they do not rot).
They are given water via water gel or wet cotton (not a bowl of water, they drown easily).
