Blaptica dubia (also known as Dubia roaches) are one of the most popular reptile and amphibian foods. They are widely used in terrariums because they are rich in nutrients, easy to maintain, and do not have the disadvantages of other insects.
Species: Blaptica dubia, a cockroach from tropical regions of Central & South America.
Size: From tiny nymph stages to 4–5 cm (adults).
Behavior:
They do not fly, do not climb on smooth surfaces.
They do not make annoying sounds like crickets.
They move relatively slowly, which makes feeding easier.
Suitable for: Geckos (leopard, crested), bearded dragons, anoles, chameleons, frogs, and even some small mammals/birds.
They are given alive so that the reptile can chase them.  ...More
