Yunnan Bamboo Snake (Oreocryptophis Porphyraceus Pulchra) Male (1.0)
NZ/24: Breeding 2024
A beautiful Yunnan Bamboo Snake (Oreocryptophis porphyraceus pulchra), with striking red-orange coloration, characteristic black transverse bands and an elegant physique. This is a special species of Asian snake, known for its impressive appearance and relatively calm character when kept in suitable conditions. In nature, it is found in cool, mountainous and forested areas of southwestern China, where it lives mainly on the ground and among dense vegetation. For this reason, it prefers a well-shaped terrarium with several hiding places, a natural substrate that maintains humidity and a bowl of clean water. The ideal temperature ranges between 22–26°C, with a small warm zone of up to 28°C, while the relative humidity should be maintained at around 60–80%. It feeds on frozen-thawed or live rodents of appropriate size, depending on its age and development. Its maintenance is relatively easy when the correct temperature and humidity conditions are maintained, which makes it an excellent choice for hobbyists who wish to host a rare and particularly impressive species.
