Phyllobates vittatus (EU-bred) is one of the most impressive but also most sensitive dart frogs. As with Dendrobates, the poison in nature comes from a special diet (ants/mites), in captivity there is no source of toxins so EU-bred individuals are not toxic
However, contact with bare hands remains prohibited, for the protection of the frog itself.
