It is natural riverbed sand, without added colors or chemicals. It has a very fine grain size and crystalline, rounded sand, suitable for use in aqua-terraria / hydropod systems (i.e. places that have water and land). It has been designed mainly for turtles. Also suitable for frogs, salamanders, amphibians or reptiles that live near water and need substrates that will not injure their skin.
